Pies & Beer
Local craft brewers Southern Highlands Brewing Company (SHBC) in Moss Vale and Eden Brewery in Mittagong have jumped aboard the pie train with some handcrafted beer deals during Pie Time. The SHBC Pie & Porter deal offers a glass of Goodfather Porter (dark with toffee chocolate and roast malt taste and made with hops grown at the SHBC Sutton Forest micro brewery) with every pie meal in the restaurant. Or go for the Mini Pie
& Porter, where you order a Goodfather Porter over the bar and for an extra dollar receive a mini pie. The Goodfather Porter was named by SHBC founders Ben and Cammo in honour of their fathers who both died of brain cancer, and who will donate $1 to Cure Cancer Australia for every litre of the Goodfather Porter sold.
At Eden Brewery in Mittagong, founders Jacob and Deb have teamed up with Tracy and Vicki of Gumnut Patisserie to create the Eden Pie. Made with Eden’s Black Beer and Gumnut’s secret beef and pastry recipe, it will
be on the Eden menu all through Pie Time to be tasted alongside Eden’s selection of locally crafted beers.
